Buena Vista Community Institute (BVCI):

Buena Vista Community Institute (BVCI) is Buena Vista UMC’s social justice and community organizing arm. Initiated through the Community Developers Program* of the UMC, BVCI focuses on identifying and prioritizing issues for church engagement, building collaborative partnerships with aligned community organizations, and mobilizing our faith in the public square.

Current Focus Topics are:

  • Palestine Solidarity

  • Immigration

  • Reparations for African Americans

Golden Bridges Seniors Ministry:

Golden Bridges is a program serving seniors that meets once a month. One of a crucial element of staying healthy as we age is having a regular space for socialization.  

We focus on simple breathing exercises, sharing our life experiences with each other; learning various topics with  special speakers such as dementia, A.I. and nutrition.  

We share a meal together with lots of fun and laughter. Please join us to meet new friends or simply get to know a familiar face a little better. 

We meet every 4th Wednesday of the Month at Buena Vista!
